Honor our names while we live, and you won't have to say our names when we die.
My Story
I'm Krystale. I wrote a narrative sociological piece reflecting on my life experience with trauma and pain amid the protests. My story resonated with people who suggested that I publish it. Kind folks helped me edit it to reach a broader audience and pitch it to media outlets. I then realized that I had no desire to edit my pain for mass consumption nor ask others if my story merited telling. So, I decided to publish the original myself and Honor Our Names was born, inspired by broader movements for black lives and calls to amplify black women's voices.
